Just as there are Christmas and holiday movies, there are Christmas and holiday games. Perhaps one of the most undeniable is Skyrim. Players should play Skyrim with its infinite replayability all throughout the year, but doing so at Christmas time is super important. There’s snow everywhere, and it brings a lot of joy to the player. Plus, there are mods upon mods to really drive home the idea of community, giving, and Christmas joy in a game like Skyrim. Now, once more to reiterate this important fact: Die Hard is a Christmas Movie, and Skyrim is a Christmas game.

This year, though, fans should be starting a new tradition by replaying Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the latest Bonafide Christmas game to hit the market.
Play Spider-Man: Miles Morales for Christmas This Year
Spider-Man: Miles Morales was released in November last year, meaning many played it for the first time in the general holiday season. Now, it’s time to begin a new tradition—much like playing Skyrim or watching Die Hard—by playing Miles Morales again for this year. Players will need to keep it up, but arguably even more so than Die Hard or Skyrim, Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a Christmas game.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ overall environment feels just like a city during the holidays. It’s vibrant, giving, and personified in unique ways. Family, community, giving, forgiveness, and more are all important elements of the holidays, and all are important elements of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. More specifically, the Miles house has a Christmas tree, there are decorations all over the city, and J. Jonah Jameson is in a Santa outfit at one point. There’s even Christmas dinner in one mission of Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Overall, this is to say that fans should replay Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Perhaps they want to do so a couple of times before Spider-Man 2 releases in 2023, perhaps before all the video games releasing in February hit the market, or perhaps because being a Spider-Man game is enough in its own right. More importantly, though, they should play it soon and mark a new Christmas tradition of swinging through New York as the Webhead.
