Gabumon is the Rookie form of Garurumon, who is both an incredibly powerful Digimon and one of the main characters in Digimon Survive. The latter also has access to several more powerful Digivolutions, making it a worthwhile addition to any early-game team. Finding Gabumon in only half the battle though, as players will also need to figure out the best responses to its questions.
How to Befriend Gabumon in Digimon Survive
By Part 4 of the game, players should already have a pretty good idea of how befriending Digimon works in Digimon Survive. If for whatever reason they don’t though, they’ll want to start by selecting the Talk option while in battle and then finding Gabumon from the list of foes on the right. Next, they’ll need to respond to its questions and statements in order to fill the bar above its head. The best responses will add two segments each, with three or more segments needed for a chance to become Gabumon’s friend.
Despite the abrasiveness of some of its statements, Gabumon is actually a fairly gentle soul. It responds well to those who mirror its kind-hearted nature, so players should choose peaceful responses and those which reflect traditional values. Despite this, it can be difficult to know how to answer one or two of its questions, so players may want to consult the best Gabumon responses found in the table below if they find themselves at a loose end.
Where to Find Gabumon in Digimon Survive
Gabumon starts showing up in random shadow encounters from Part 4 onwards, before eventually appearing in certain Free Battle locations during the second half of the game. Like Agumon, it’s an incredibly hard-to-find Rookie Digimon and so is well worth befriending if players get the opportunity to do so. This is especially true for those who want to get their hands on Garurumon and its powerful Digivolutions early on in the game.
